Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
-"Blackbird"
While I was, and still am, going through my little fanlisting and clique obsession, I was surprised to find the the lack of a
Paul McCartney fanlisting. That startling discovery led me to the creation of this little fanlisting. After all, if John has one
why shouldn't Paul as well? So, here we go! A fanlisting dedicated to one of the 4 men who helped change the write the history
of music and the history of our lives.
When one says that their favourite Beatle is Paul McCartney, the reaction you might recieve is probably a roll of the eyes maybe
paired up with a derisive snort. "Your favourite Beatle is Paul? The 'Cute one?' Oh please! That is so lame." I never really
understood that whole mentality that some Beatle fans and non-Beatle fans have. Paul may not not have been some spiritual
guru or a political figure like our two dearly missed ones, but he is still, and always will be, hailed as an amazing singer,
writer, and bass player. Being from a guitarist background, the one who was saddled with the instrument after Stu Sutcliffe's departure,
he brought something unique to his bass playing, creating truly inventive bass lines that gave the Beatles' songs something
truly remarkable. Though a guitarist and bassist by occupation, this talented man has a natural ability with all things musical,
playing piano, drums, and just about every instrument he picks up. Damn... it truly is hard not to envy this man.
His songs, written with John and without him, are amazing. A comprehensive body of work that span so many different styles
and genres. With the Beatles, he helped define an entire decade, churning out #1 hit songs and LPs, 25 out of 28 #1 hit songs.
In his post-Beatles band, Wings, Paul recorded 7 #1 hit albums and garnered 2 Oscar nominations...
Blah blah blah. I really could keep going on and on, but I'm guessing that you already know everything that you
could possibly know. So, in conclusion... this is simply a fanlisting to show our love for dear dear Macca. Without him,
I have no idea where I would be.
